Lisa Uhrik is a leadership strategist, entrepreneur, and literacy advocate with decades of experience guiding organizations toward meaningful impact. As co-owner of Franklin Fixtures and co-founder of Plenty Downtown Bookshop, she combines business acumen, community vision, and deep expertise in organizational development.

Lisa holds dual M.Ed. degrees from Vanderbilt University in Human Development and Organizational Development and has pursued doctoral studies in Community Literacy at Tennessee Technological University.

She is co-owner and CEO of Franklin Fixtures, a company she leads alongside her husband, Dave. Since 1974, Franklin Fixtures has set the gold standard in retail and book display fixtures. Today, they’re known for creating the most effective book displays in the world, manufactured in the U.S. using lean processes, solar power, and reclaimed materials. As a second-chance employer, they champion individuals in local recovery programs, making an impact not only through what they build, but how they build it.

Lisa and Dave also co-own Franklin Enterprises, which specializes in commercial exteriors including building envelope construction, metal fabrication, and roofing. Through both companies, they are revitalizing American manufacturing and reinvesting in local communities.

Additionally, Lisa serves as Executive Director for the nonprofit Plenty Downtown Bookshop and hosts four podcasts: Two Minute Tweaks, Brick and Mortar Matters, Life of Plenty, and Count on Me Culture. Her book, America Becoming, reframes U.S. history through the lens of developmental theory, offering a READ³‑based roadmap toward interdependence and community unity.

Rooted in Cookeville, TN, Lisa and Dave share their hearts with four large dogs and an abundance of quirky family and friends.
