ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This is a new joint initiative from Hip Cookeville and IMPACT Leadership and is available to everyone from newcomers to native Cookevillians interested in promoting community connectedness. It offers a fascinating insider’s look at our community. In 3 sessions, you will connect with other civic-minded citizens you might not otherwise cross paths with in a lifetime. It’s all designed to give attendees a more complete view and understanding of Cookeville, along with a better sense of how to put leadership into action and become more engaged.

TIME COMMITMENT

Cultivating Cookeville is 3 sessions – once per month each quarter. We also hold monthly receptions that feature sneak peaks to our 3 sessions for those interested in learning more. Sessions are held in a variety of unique locations to fully acquaint class members with Cookeville. A wide range of top community leaders serve as guest speakers, and a variety of tours and activities are featured. Session topics include history, education, business, entrepreneurship, regional vision & partnerships, quality of life, volunteerism, and arts & culture.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE

A typical class will have participants ranging from newcomers to long-time residents. Those retiring to the area can also benefit from this program to make meaningful civic connections and find opportunities for engagement with Cookeville volunteer opportunities and social connections that improve quality of life. Anyone with enthusiasm to learn more about Cookeville and take a more active role as a citizen should participate in Cultivating Cookeville.

REGISTRATION

Cultivating Cookeville program tuition is $30, which includes snacks, parking, venues, speakers and materials. Monthly receptions are open and free to the public. Often companies will fund tuition from continuing education or professional development budgets. Limited scholarships are available based on need.

CULTIVATING COOKEVILLE IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Cultivating Cookeville graduates are invited to join the CC Alumni Association. As alumni members you will have further opportunities for on-going engagement to network and connect with community leaders from all IMPACT Leadership programs and Hip Cookeville initiatives.
